 TO DO LIST

Mown lawn 3 inches in height; never remove more than a 1/3 of the grass plant.
Fertilize your lawn.
Remove garden debris, straw or grass clippings as potential hiding places for slugs; apply iron phosphate as a safe slug bait.
Prune, shape and thin spring-blooming shrubs after blossoms fade.
Use floating row covers over cole crops at planting time to pretect from insects.
Remove tree wrap.

Botany for Gardeners

 

Experts and novice alike will enjoy the excitement of a Botany Game Show at the home of Sally Shaffer with Game Show host: Allen Grise asking challenging questions on our Plant Identification Quiz game show. 

 

Our member contestants will compete against other players or another team for a good outcome or a high score. Prize puzzles are worth a certificate to your  favorite flower shop. Questions & answers will be given out at the meeting prior to study. Hope to see you there.

 The club plants and cares for many planting projects in the community.

 In the spring we sell herbs, flowering baskets, annuals, and perennials as well as

many plants from member’s own gardens.

Proceeds go to pay for maintaining club projects.
